Psychotherapeutic Themes

Psychotherapeutic Themes Group

This unique group meets once a week and is predicated on residents bringing a song of their choosing along with the lyrics to group. This song should be something that has personal meaning for the resident. We listen to the song, and hear from the resident why it speaks to them personally, and open the discussion to the group for their response to the material. People are often able to communicate themes via music that may be difficult for them to articulate in other ways. This stimulus often leads to important discussions about universal themes of love & loss, pain, the striving for connectedness, and hope for the future after struggle.
