The Retreat is a premiere, self funded psychiatric setting operated by the nationally renowned Sheppard Pratt Health System, located in the suburbs of Baltimore, MD.
TMS Leadership
Our TMS Leaders consist of a senior psychiatrist who is a national expert in mood disorders and neuromodulatory techniques and a dedicated senior nurse with several years of TMS experience. Together and with the assistance of other trained psychiatrists and nursing staff on the Retreat, they administer Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation treatment which is used to treat various neurological and psychiatric disorders, especially treatment resistant depression. TMS is a noninvasive treatment and uses an electromagnetic pull to depolarize neurons in the brain, allowing brain currents and functions to be modulated therapeutically.
