At the Retreat, we see and treat substance abuse as part of the whole picture of the individual resident, who may be suffering from other mental illnesses simultaneously.
Dual Diagnosis
At the Retreat at Sheppard Pratt the Dual Diagnosis track is a specialized treatment program within our overall continuum of mental health care. We believe that co-occurring substance abuse disorders and mental illness are most effectively treated together as opposed to some settings where each issue is essentially dealt with separately. Through the use of integrated detoxification, individual therapy and family counseling, group therapy, psychopharmacology, and educational programming residents with these complex issues have access to a full array of therapies.
